The IPN would like to invite everyone to the official opening of the "Foreigners in the Warsaw Uprising" exhibition which is devoted to citizens of other countries bringing aid to the insurgents fighting in beseiged capital.
Poles were voluntarily supported by citizens of other countries, including the British, Greeks, Georgians, French, Slovaks and Italians. An important role was also played by the Allied airmen, among them, the British, Australians, Americans and South Africans.
The exhibition commemorates their sacrifice and contribution to the fight against the Third Reich. It reminds the viewer that the fight against the Germans in Warsaw was a common cause not only of the Polish nation but of the Allies. Join us in the commemoration of the participation of foreigners in the Warsaw Uprising by viewing the bilingual exhibition (Polish and English).
The official opening of the exhibition will take place on 2 August at the Great Courtyard of the Royal Castle in Warsaw. It can be viewed in Warsaw's Old Town until 30 September.
