The exhibition features unique documents and artifacts rescued from the wartime trails, illustrating more than a century in the history of the Moszoro family – Polish emigrants in Argentina who originated from the Borderlands of the Second Republic. The exhibition received honorary patronage of the Embassy of Argentina in Warsaw.

Thanks to the IPN Archive and its Director Marzena Kruk, “The Archive Full of Remembrance” project created in the Institute has been securing family memorabilia for our collections, preserving artefacts that tell beautiful, but sometimes also tragic stories. So far, we have collected some 2,500 of them, and we don't keep all this knowledge under lock and key but share it with the public, said President Karol Nawrocki at the event.

After welcoming distinguished guests, including Argentine Ambassador to Poland Alicia Irene Falkowski and representatives of the Moszoro family: Bartłomiej, Antoni and Stefan Moszoro, Agata Szkarłat and IPN Deputy President Mateusz Szpytma, Ph.D., and the meeting's host, editor Marta Piasecka, gave the floor to the director of the Museum of Independence in Warsaw, Tadeusz Skoczek, Ph.D. He expressed his gratitude for the many years of cooperation with the IPN.

Argentine Ambassador to Poland Alicia Irene Falkowski thanked the IPN for the fact that owing to the exhibition, many years of efforts and activities of the Argentine Polish community will not be forgotten. She also emphasized the merits and great commitment of the Moszoro family as regards their work for the Polish community in Argentina.

Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Rosario Bartłomiej Moszoro, on behalf of the family, thanked for the preparation of the exhibition, and visibly moved, added that the exhibition is a tribute to his parents, but also to a whole generation of Poles who set an example of honor and heroism, but were left to their own fate and had to build a new life in exile after the end of the war.

At the end of the official part, the director of the IPN Archive, Marzena Kruk  emphasized that working on the exhibition was a fascinating adventure, allowing us to learn about the fate of the "ordinary, yet exceptional family" Moszoro. She stressed that it is such families that Poland is proud of.

The vernissage was followed by a unique concert performed by Damian Wilma, an opera singer, and the VIO-DION DUO duo – Malwina and Krzysztof Lutrzykowski. The songs in the repertoire took guests on a musical journey to places connected with the peregrinations of the Moszoro family, from pre-war, nostalgic Lwów to hot, sunny Argentina.

After the concert, the participants of the opening were invited to visit the exhibition, which was guided by its curators: Marzena Kruk, Agnieszka Sodel and Justyna Staroń Ph.D. The exhibition will be available for the visitors until 15 November 2024.
