We are pleased to present our next research report entitled: “Immersive History Education - Where We Are and What Lies Ahead”. It is the result of a search for answers to the question of what the educational needs of the younger generations (alpha and Z) are, particularly in the context of learning history. The report premiered at the international Game Developers Conference event in San Francisco on 19 March 2025.

“Immersive History Education - Where We Are and What Lies Ahead” - evolution or revolution?

The second research report by the IPN New Technology Division is an evolution from the first one entitled: “Immersive History Education – Towards New Educational Pathways” - published in 2022, indicating who the learners are, what their needs are in terms of history education and presenting three history learning pathways (Time Machine, Sensory Code and Inspirational Embodiment).

Based on the results of the 2024 survey, the existing pathways have been updated and a new fourth pathway - Discovering Meaning - has been introduced. Each of these pathways can serve as an inspiration for schools, cultural institutions or NGOs involved in youth education. They will help design cutting-edge programmes that integrate history with modern technology and engaging learning methods.
