The French Institute of Memory, Culture and Archives (fr. Direction de la Mémoire, Culture and Archives (DMCA)), subordinate to the French Ministry of Defense, is a government institution responsible for managing historical memory, particularly in the context of events related to World War II, the Holocaust, and other key moments in French history . The institution is involved in researching, documenting and commemorating these events, as well as educating the public about their significance.
The Polish Library in Paris is the oldest Polish institution outside the country's borders. The library collects works on history, literature, and art from the 19th and 20th centuries. In its archives, the library has files from Polish émigré institutions and the legacies of Polish personalities living in France. Of particular note are publications including studies on World War II.
Since the beginning of the 21st century, the Library's goal has been to build a new bridge between Poland and France. An important part of its activities are scientific conferences promoting Polish science. These conferences are also an important centre for the integration of Polish and French scientific centers related to the Polish diaspora.
