On 14 June 2025, the city of Sheffield, England, hosted ceremonies commemorating the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of the German Nazi Concentration Camps.

The opening was attended by Sheffield Mayor Safiya Saeed. The victims of German totalitarianism from many European countries were symbolically commemorated by reading out the names of representatives of various nations.

The accompanying conference on the subject of German extermination camps was organized by the Green Light Family Support association, which promotes events related to Poland's recent history and supports and disseminates Polish culture in the United Kingdom.

The Institute of National Remembrance was represented by the IPN Office of Search and Identification representative Rafał Michliński, who gave two presentations: one on the functioning of German concentration and extermination camps operating in occupied Poland and the other on the life of Captain Witold Pilecki.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition dedicated to Witold Pilecki, authored by Dariusz Gałaszewski, Ph.D. was followed by a tour of the exhibition led by Rafał Michliński, who presented the most important aspects of Captain Pilecki's mission in Auschwitz and the Pilecki Report.

The celebrations were attended by Karolina Jabłońska, representative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Manchester, who read out a letter of intent addressed to the participants and guests.

The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Institute of National Remembrance.
