On 19 November 2025, the Institute of National Remembrance hosted a delegation of representatives of Moldovan institutions involved in researching and commemorating history. The guests visited the IPN Educational Center “History Point" in Warsaw, located at 21/25 Marszałkowska Street, where they learned about the Institute’s activities and its role in shaping the culture of remembrance in Poland.
During the meeting, the delegation was presented with the structure and broad scope of the IPN’s activities. Director Adam Siwek discussed in detail the work of the IPN's Office for Commemorating the Struggle and Martyrdom, highlighting the importance of protecting memorial sites and documenting the fates of victims of totalitarian regimes. The issue of decommunization of the public space—an effort carried out by the IPN for many years in support of local governments and institutions in removing communist symbolism—sparked particular interest among the Moldovan guests.
Representatives of the IPN's National Education Office showcased a variety of historical education tools designed for children and young people—from modern educational materials to workshops, outdoor games, and multimedia projects. These solutions proved especially inspiring for the Moldovan delegation, which expressed interest in drawing on the IPN’s experience when developing its own educational initiatives.
The prospect of further cooperation aligns with the statutory mission of the Institute as Poland’s leading research, educational, and archival institution, open to international exchange of experience in the field of memory policy.
The visit was organized by the IPN International Cooperation Office.
