The talks were also attended by the Director of the President’s Office, Dr. Marek Jedynak, and the Director of the Office of International Cooperation, Katarzyna Dryńska. Discussions focused on potential avenues of cooperation in the establishment of a Moldovan institution of remembrance, as well as a related visit to Moldova.
In 2026, marks the 35th anniversary of Moldova regaining its independence. Nevertheless, public knowledge regarding Stalinist deportations and the Great Famine remains insufficient. In response, the Moldovan authorities are planning to establish an institution modeled on the Polish Institute of National Remembrance, dedicated to preserving and safeguarding national memory.
