On 17 May 2026, the first international screening of the third episode of the series Trail of Hope: The Battle of Monte Cassino, entitled Battle of Nations, took place at the Teatro Manzoni Cinema in Cassino, Italy, .

The screening was held for an Italian audience as well as for those involved in the production of the series. More than 650 people attended the event, including a large group of Polish and Italian historical reenactors.

The episode received a very warm reception from the Italian public, while director Tomasz Łysiak was widely praised for his powerful portrayal of the dramatic events surrounding the Battle of Monte Cassino.

Following the screening, a discussion was held with the participation of the director and Dr Adam Pleskaczyński, Director of the IPN National Education Office, focusing on the making of the film, the cooperation between the Institute of National Remembrance and the city of Cassino, as well as the role of the local community in the production process.

The discussion also highlighted the significance of the efforts undertaken by the National Education Office and the Institute of National Remembrance in preserving the memory of the heroic deeds of the soldiers of General Władysław Anders’ 2nd Polish Corps.
