As part of the Year of Sergiusz Piasecki celebrations in the United Kingdom, the IPN, together with the Polish Sue Association, organised two special events in London dedicated to the life, work, and legacy of one of the most fascinating figures in 20th-century Polish history.

The first event took place at POSK London, where members of the Polish community, history enthusiasts, and lovers of Polish literature gathered for an evening devoted to Sergiusz Piasecki - writer, soldier, patriot, and defender of Poland’s independence. Guests visited the exhibition “The Seven Faces of Sergiusz Piasecki” prepared by IPN and attended lectures exploring his extraordinary biography, wartime experiences, and literary achievements.

The second event was held at the White Eagle School in London, where nearly 100 students from Year 8 and sixth form classes participated in a special educational programme dedicated to Sergiusz Piasecki. Young participants explored the exhibition, attended lectures, and reflected on themes of history, freedom, literature, and national identity.

A particularly moving element of both meetings was the participation of Prof. Władysław Tomaszewicz, son of Sergiusz Piasecki, who shared personal memories and reflections on his father’s life and legacy.

The events formed part of IPN’s wider educational and commemorative activities in the United Kingdom, aimed at preserving and promoting Polish history, culture, and national heritage abroad.
