The Institute of Naational Remembrance would like to present a short video produced by the IPN Office of International Cooperation with the use of artificial intelligence technology. We would like to dedicate this material to the victims of the Polish Operation of the NKVD - one of the most tragic and long-silenced crimes of Soviet terror.

In 1937-1938, under NKVD Order No. 00485, more than 100,000 Poles living in the Soviet Union were murdered, while tens of thousands more were deported to Gulag camps or sent into exile. Their Polish descent alone was enough to make them targets of Soviet repression.
Behind these numbers were fathers, mothers, children, and entire Polish communities in the East. Families were torn apart, homes emptied, and lives destroyed. The Polish Operation left behind a legacy of fear, loss, and silence that continued for generations.
Using AI-generated imagery, the video evokes the atmosphere of repression and recalls the world of Polish communities that was devastated by the Great Terror.
