On March 2, 2010 at Columbia University in New York the opening of the exhibition "The Polish People's Republic - so far, so close…" took place. The exhibition was prepared by the Public Education Office and the Public Education Branch Office in Warsaw. It is presented in Polish and English language versions and was prepared in cooperation with professor John Micgiel – the director of the East Central European Center. During the opening of the exhibition an introductory lecture was delivered by Professor Jerzy Eisler. The Public Education Office’s staff presented the latest book releases of The Institute of National Remembrance (mostly in English) which have been handed over to the University Library.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the University, the Polish community members, PAP and the Polish press. The exhibition was well received by the visitors. It is presented in the main hall of International Affairs Building, which gives the opportunity to visit the exhibition by both students and people from outside.

The exhibition is open until the end of March (Columbia University, on the ground floor of International Affairs Building, 420 West 118th Street, Manhattan). We kindly invite you to visit this interesting exhibition.
