Between May 10-18, 2010 the delegation of the Institute National Remembrance visited the United States. It was chaired by Dr. Zbigniew Nawrocki, the Director of the Office for the Preservation and Dissemination of Archival Records. The main purpose of the trip was a meeting at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington and a visit to the Józef Piłsudski Institute in New York, where a cooperation agreement has been signed.

At the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington details of the archival exchange have been discussed within the lines of the agreement signed in December 2009 under which the both institutions exchange copies of the archival materials significant for both organizations.

In Washington the representatives have also met with Zofia Korbońska, the widow of Stefan Korboński the last Government Delegate for Poland. IPN has recently reissued his book "On behalf of the Republic..." Last year we have also published a bilingual album on Stefan Korboński.

In New York the delegation of the Institute of National Remembrance visited Józef Piłsudski Institute of America. During the meeting a cooperation agreement has been signed according to which IPN will conduct digitization of the Piłsudski’s Institute archival materials, including the film and iconographic collections.

Later IPN met with Bożena Kamiński, the Executive Director of the Polish-Slavic Center. Talks were held on the possibility of cooperation between the two institutions which would entail donating IPN publications to Polish schools in New York. Also regular talks are planned, which would entail IPN's scholars explaining the work of the IPN to the American Polonia. The Institute would also like to organize a series of lectures at the Polish-Slavic Centre on the Polish modern history.

The delegation has also met with Sam Bryan, the son of Julien Bryan, a war reporter and photographer. The photographs of Julien Bryan documenting the German aggression on Poland have been recently published in the album "A więc wojna... / It's war ...".  Also an agreement has been discussed under which IPN will create the "Julien Bryan Collection in Warsaw" in its archives. The collection will comprise of copies photographs and films of the late reporter.

On April 17, the delegation took part in a symposium held at Queens College commemorating the victims of the tragedy in Smoleńsk. The symposium was co-presided by Ewa Junczyk-Ziomecka, Consul General in New York, who spoke of the approach of Lech Kaczyński, the late President of Poland on Polish-Jewish relations and the need for dialogue between the two countries.
