On 31 October 2020, on the anniversary of the death of two fathers of Polish independence - Wincenty Witos and Ignacy Daszyński - on behalf of the President of the Institute of National Remembrance and the branch of the Institute in Cracow, Deputy Director Cecylia Radoń laid flowers at the busts of both statesmen in the Jordan Park in Krakow. She also laid flowers at the Witos memorial, placed on the building of the Hospital of the Order of Bonifraters, where he died.

 

 Wincenty Witos died on 31 October 1945. He was the leader of the peasant  movement and the three-time prime minister in the Second Polish Republic. After the outbreak of World War II, arrested by the Germans, he refused to cooperate with the occupation authorities.

Ignacy Daszyński died on 31 October 1936 in Bystra near Cieszyn. He was a socialist activist, co-founder of the Polish Social and Democratic Party of Galicia and Silesia, and the prime minister of the provisional government established in Lublin in November 1918, and the Speaker of the Seym in the Second Polish Republic.
