Opening of the exhibition "Battle of Britain. To Commemorate the Fight for Freedom” will take place on September 14, 2011, in the Royal Air Force Museum in London. The exhibition shows participation of Polish and Czechoslovak pilots in the Battle of Britain in 1940. Profiles of three pilots of the 303 Squadron, displayed at the exhibition, are an international symbol of the brotherhood of arms. The pilots were: Witold Urbanowicz (Pole), Josef Františk (Czech) and John Kent (Canadian). The exhibition was prepared by IPN Public Education Office in cooperation with RAF Museum (UK) and the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (Czech Republic). It is part of a wider project "Brothers in Arms. Poles and Czechoslovaks in the Battle of Britain & Beyond ", prepared by the RAF Museum. It will be accompanied by numerous artifacts and archival records, including the remains of the first German aircraft shot down by 303 Squadron during the Battle of Britain.
One of the components of the project will be large-format version of the IPN educational game "303". The exhibition will be open to the public from 16 September 2011 to 4 March 2012. Admission is free.
