On September 30, 2011 the Minister of Culture and National Heritage – Bogdan Zdrojewski issued appointment letters for the members of the International Center for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Reconciliation.
Among the members of the Council is the President of the Institute of National Remembrance – Dr Łukasz Kamiński. At the same time Dr Sławomir Dębski was called for the position of the Director of the Center.
Center for Polish-Russian Dialogue and Reconciliation was called to life on the basis of a national act, introduced on April 19, 2011, with its major goals including: support for the dialogue in Polish-Russian relations and cooperation with an analogue institution, which will be created in Russia.
The main tasks of the Center include: providing support for Polish and Russian endeavors to promote dialogue and understanding in the Polish-Russian relations, through scientific research, publishing and educational campaigns in both countries. The Center aims also at organizing conferences, seminars and discussions, in cooperation with Polish and Russian academic centers and scientific and cultural institutions.
