On 21 October (Friday) at the Hungarian Institute for Culture (ul. Moniuszki 10, Warsaw) a symposium took place entitled "Poland and Hungary. Difficult legacy of communism. What was the system to us?"
The panelists included:
Maria Wittner (after the Hungarian Revolution lost in 1956 she was sentenced to death, and then spent 12 years in prison)
Akos Engelmayer (participant of the Hungarian Revolution in 1956, former Ambassador to the Republic of Hungary in Poland in 1990-1995)
Dr. Łukasz Kamiński (President of the IPN)
Professor Andrzej Paczkowski (Chairman of the IPN’s Council)
Professor Jerzy Eisler (Director of the Warsaw Branch of the IPN)
Dr. Krzysztof Persak (Director of the President Office in the IPN)
Dr. Janos Tischler (Historian, Director of the Hungarian Institute for Culture in Warsaw)
The discussion was moderated by dr. Jan Malicki (Director of the East European Studies of the University of Warsaw).
