From 12 to 16 May the International Festival of History „20th Century. Anamneses” took place in Wroclaw. “»Bloodlands« - the 20th Century history of Europe" was the theme of the festival’s first edition. The program included number of events: debates, films, workshops, meetings, concerts and performances.

Institute of National Remembrance is one of the partners of the Festival.

The aim of the festival is to provide a space for joint debate of historians, writers, filmmakers and artists whose work relates to important moments of the 20th century European history.

Historians, writers, filmmakers and artists for five days will deal with issues of the tragic history of "bloodlands" (a term used by American historian Timothy Snyder), the area where in the years 1933-1945, Hitler and Stalin made the mass murder of about 14 millions of ordinary people and prisoners of war.
