On 27 February 2014 in Budapest the annual working meeting of the European Network of Official Authorities in Charge of the Secret Police Files was held. The meeting has been organized by the Historical Archives of the Hungarian State Security (ABTL), which currently presides over the Network. Mrs. Anna Piekarska, Deputy Director of the Public Education Office represented IPN at the event.

During the meeting representatives of the member institutions discussed main projects carried out by them in 2013, as well as plans for the current year.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Réka Földváryné Kiss, the President of the newly formed Hungarian Committee of the National Remembrance, who presented goals of the Committee, established by a resolution of the Hungarian Parliament in December 2013.

As a result of voting the Network unanimously decided to accept as an observer member another Slovenian institution i.e. Archives of the Republic of Slovenia, which holds documents of the security services. As of 2012 National Reconciliation Study (SCNR) from Slovenia has been another observer member of the organisation.

Next meeting of the Network is planned for September 2014.
