"The Ukrainian trail of Katyń" – a lecture by Dr. Oleksandr Zinczenko, Warsaw, 2 June 2014

"Most importantly I wanted to describe fates of people, both the survivors and those who died" said Dr. Oleksandr Zinchenko, author of a book about Katyń. The Ukrainian historian gave a lecture on the Ukrainian traces of the massacre at the IPN Educational Center on June 2, 2014. Dr. Zinchenko has also recently taken the position of the deputy director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance. After the lecture, he met with representatives of the Polish Institute of National Remembrance.

Dr. Oleksandr Zinchenko is the author of the book "Hodyna papuhy" (Time of the parrots), which was published in Ukraine in 2011. Next year  the book should be released also in Polish. This is the first attempt taken by a Ukrainian researcher to describe the Katyń Massacre, and especially its Ukrainian thread.
