70. anniversary of the operation "Ostra Brama" (en. Gate of Dawn) and the screening of the IPN movie "Legenda wileńskiej konspiracji" (en. The legend of the Vilnius conspiration) – Vilnius, 5 July 2014
To commemorate the 70. anniversary of the operation "Ostra Brama", a pre-screening of the movie "Legenda wileńskiej konspiracji" (en. The legend of the Vilniu conspiration) will be organised in the House of Polish Culture in Vilnius on 5 July at 3 pm.
The movie directed by Tomasz Piotrowski tells the story of a legendary soldier of the Vilnius conspiration Stanisław Kiałka. Kiałka has been active in the independence underground, interned by the Soviet troops in 1944 after the battle of Lviv and sent to a gulag in Workuty, where he documented the life of prisoners. His memories and accounts are kept in the Ossolineum library in Wrocław.
The film has been directed in the IPN branch office in Białystok. Entrance is free of charge.
