Krzysztof Kaczmarski (born 1965) – historian, Doctor of Humanities. Since 2000 Head of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) Branch Office of Public Education in Rzeszów, Poland. His research interests focus on the Polish underground resistance movement in 1939-1956, Polish government-in-exile during the Second World War, as well as on the Polish-Jewish relations. Author of several books and over 50 academic articles on Poland's contemporary history.

He will present The Lions of Maczek, a comic book published by three French authors. The comic book is focusing on the role played by General Maczek during the Campaign of Normandy and the liberation of France and Europe in 1944 – 1945. General Maczek was an exceptional man who lived in Edinburgh for more than 40 years. He died there in 1994 at the age of 102. He is known by the Polish Diaspora and beyond. as shown by this book.

Mirosław Surdej (born 1982) – historian, Doctor of Humanities. Works at the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) Branch Office of Public Education in Rzeszów, Poland. His research is centred on the history of Polish pro-independence conspiracy. Author of a monograph and number of academic articles on contemporary history.


Tomasz Bereźnicki– illustrator and comic book artist, guitarist, stained glass window designer. Graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. Author of

The Pharmacist in the Cracow Ghetto, a comic book about Tadeusz Pankiewicz, awarded the Righteous Among the Nations. His comics have appeared in anthologies dedicated to football and economy; he is also interested in music and film. Winner of numerous comic book competitions, including three times on the Warsaw Uprising.Colonel Maczek's September was published in 2014.

Hubert Taczyński – currently a second year student of Medical Sciences. Fascinated by everything that is unknown, he loves exploring new sports, cultures and hobbies.
