The Institute of National Remembrance is hosting a delegation from Moldova, consisting of members of the Centre for Strategic Communication and Countering Disinformation (StratCom Center), the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Culture.
On the first day, the guests were welcomed by the Deputy President of the IPN, Prof. Karol Polejowski at the IPN headquarters. This was followed by a presentation on the Institute’s activities by Katarzyna Dryńska, Director of the IPN Office of International Cooperation. During the meeting, representatives of individual departments presented their main projects and activities: Sebastian Pilarski, Ph.D., Director of the IPN Historical Research Office; Prosecutor Bogusław Czerwiński from the Main Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation; and Sandra Užule-Fons, Ph.D. from the National Education Office. After the meeting, the delegation visited the “Strzelecka 8” Memorial Chamber.
The second day was devoted entirely to workshops at the IPN Archive, where guests heard, among other topics, about the development of the IPN archival collection and the protection of documentary resources, the military records repository, the Digital Archive system, as well as the conservation, digitization, and accessibility of documents.
The visit by the Moldovan delegation is part of a project to establish a memory institution in Moldova modeled on the Polish IPN. It was emphasized that from its onset the IPN had been the mentoring institution, especially in the field of transitional justice.The Institute has offered its cooperation by organizing meetings and thematic workshops.
