On 2 June 2026, the IPN and the State Commission for Political Rehabilitation of Mongolia signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening collaboration in the fields of historical research, archival studies, commemoration, and public education concerning political repression and human rights violations.
The agreement was signed during an official visit to Mongolia by an IPN delegation led by Deputy President Karol Polejowski. The Polish delegation also included Adam Siwek, Director of the Office for Commemoration of Struggle and Martyrdom, and Grzegorz Berendt from the President’s Office of the IPN, alongside representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Mongolia.
The Mongolian side was represented by Chultemsuren Tsaschikher, Secretary of the State Commission for Political Rehabilitation of Mongolia. The meeting was also attended by Jargalsaikhan Zoljargal, Chairman of the Mongolia - Poland Parliamentary Friendship Group of the State Great Khural.
During their visit, the IPN delegation met with Vice-Rector Baatarchuluun Tsermaa and paid tribute to President Lech Kaczyński by laying flowers at the commemorative plaque dedicated to him at the National University of Mongolia.
The newly signed agreement marks an important step in fostering international cooperation in preserving historical memory and documenting the experiences of victims of political persecution.
On 3 June 2026 the IPN delegation headed by Deputy President Karol Polejowski visited the Mongolian State Archives, where they toured several departments, including the document conservation laboratory.
